The Communist Party’s 19th Central Committee will convene for its fifth plenum from October 26 to 29 to discuss recommendations for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2026) and future targets for 2035.
The 13th NPC Standing Committee will convene for its 22nd session from October 13 to 17 and will review the following bills:
- draft amendment to the Patent Law [专利法];
- draft revision to the Minors Protection Law [未成年人保护法];
- draft Biosecurity Law [生物安全法];
- draft Export Control Law [出口管制法];
- draft amendment to the National Flag Law [国旗法];
- draft amendment to the National Emblem Law [国徽法];
- draft Yangtze River Protection Law [长江保护法];
- draft Veterans Support Law [退役军人保障法];
- draft Criminal Law Amendment (XI) [刑法修正案(十一)];
- draft revision to the Administrative Penalties Law [行政处罚法];
- draft Personal Information Protection Law [个人信息保护法];
- draft amendment to the Election Law for the National People’s Congress and Local People’s Congresses at All Levels [全国人民代表大会和地方各级人民代表大会选举法];
- draft revision to the Wild Animals Protection Law [野生动物保护法];
- draft revision to the National Defense Law [国防法]; and
- draft Coast Guard Law [海警法].
